Why Preventative Maintenance?

Back One Page

Do you have a new driver in your house?    Now that they are licensed, are you providing them with a safe vehicle to drive? It's funny how parents will make sure their children get to the dentist or in for their checkups, but we don't put the same thought in to the vehicles we let them drive.

Here is a Service Interval Schedule.  See if that car or truck you've just handed to your child is being properly maintained.

If you're not sure, call one of our AutoCare Center's for some "Peace of Mind."  You'll be thankful you did!

What is Preventative Maintenance?

Preventative maintenance is a schedule of planned maintenance actions aimed at the prevention of breakdowns and failures.  The primary goal of preventative maintenance is to prevent failure before it actually occurs.  It is designed to preserve and enhance reliability, and who doesn't want that for their family or for themselves.

Why is it so important?

Well, most importantly, it extends the life and reliability of your vehicle. Ultimately reducing your expenses and increasing the value of your car.

Practically speaking, it saves you from those costly breakdowns.  The time and energy you spend once you've broken down is often triple the cost and triple the time had you just given your car a checkup.  Every great mechanic will tell you most breakdowns could have been avoided with a little preventative maintenance.

When to schedule preventative maintenance?

We have provided for you a guideline to follow for standard maintenance of your vehicle.  Just as we need to take care of ourselves, we need to take care of our cars.

Hopefully, this will guide you in understanding when is the right time for a maintenance check up.  Of course, you should always contact one of our AutoCare Centers if you have any specific questions or needs.  They will be more than happy to help you!
